This is a copper bowl that has been enameled. I sank the bowl and then did the enameling.

It's my first "Intro to Metals and Jewelry" project. This is my first enameled piece of this size. I have twelve 1.5 inch enameled squares, but this is the first large piece I've done in metal like this.

When I was taking it out of the kiln it fell off the trivet into the kiln and got cracked a little bit. It's not as noticeable in person as it is in the photograph.

I decided that I wanted to make it psychadelic looking so I did all the colors of the rainbow on the front. There's not very much orange but I don't really like orange. The little dots on it are very small glass beads. The inside has a line from Allen Ginsberg's poem, "America." It says "I have mystical visions and cosmic vibrations." It's kind of hard to see because I used a hard clear glaze instead of soft like I guess I should have. Here is a picture of the inside. [link]
